first friday opening november 6, 2009, 6-9pm

just because i can

so i used to teach art full-time. tomorrow i'm just making a guest appearance in a k4 class of a former colleague.
while printmaking isn't my normal medium, i love it. i usually like other people's work in the genre better than my own, but i still enjoy making it & the results. plus, this adorable fox came "to me" during church on sunday & i couldn't help but turn him into a project for the kids.
enJOY!

coming soon....

so i'm not sure what today is. but i know it's less than a month away from my gallery show! it's gonna be swell.
i've got more than a dozen wind-up toy paintings (they're ginormous! -for wind-up toys, anyway- @least 20" square each!)

first friday opening is november 6 @ the art & light gallery. (www.artandlightgallery.com) just through downtown greenville in the pendleton arts disctrict (flatiron studios building.) it'll be enriching, colorful, & oodles of fun.

see you there!

illustration works

here's an assortment of illustrations i've created in the semi-recent past. i love color and being inspired by random doodles &/or things i see &/or read & re-read & even cheesy movie lines.... weedy sea dragons! alice underground! etc etc...

cave art

well, in the sense that humans have walls now & i paint murals on them. ;)

here are a few shots done for classrooms & bookstores & the like....

enJOY!

*h.

clutter, schmutter...

while i am overwhelmingly attracted to neat, simple, clean design work, i cannot create it myself. the colors keep exploding from every corner & i end up with stuff like this.
i've never tried to pretend to be a graphic designer, but i kinda think my sorry skills work with my painting aesthetic, so i deal.

here, for example, is the back of my promo postcard for the upcoming wind-up show.
i can mail you one if you wish (once printed), or look for them @ your local coffee shop....

minimalism be cursed. ;)

oh, the what a tangled web i stumble through

...so i'm attempting a blog. because i definitely cannot attempt a website. so here's me. i'll share some art, some books, some gallery work... just so you can find me on the web! i do murals, books, and paintings for your home, office, & where ever else needs some color.
have a joyful day of peace & love.
